Dr. Kathy Hoang was born in Vietnam and comes from a family of six who migrated to the United States after the war. Grateful for the opportunity of coming to the United States at a young age, she was determined to further her education to help her family from a tragic event in history.
Dr. Hoang received her Bachelor’s degree at California State University of Long Beach and graduated with a Bachelors in Science-Biology. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences. She has additional clinical training in primary eyecare, specialty contact lenses including scleral lenses, orthokeratology and myopia control, neuro-optometric rehabilitation (vision therapy), and ocular disease. At John Wesley Community Health (JWCH) Institute in Los Angeles, she gained a tremendous amount of experience in treating and managing diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and corneal pathologies.
Dr. Hoang’s mission is to connect, communicate, and work collaboratively with each of her patients to offer the highest quality and personalized eye care possible. She finds joy and satisfaction in serving the visual needs of the community and is proficient in the newest procedures to bring state-of-the-art care to her patients.
In her free time, Dr. Hoang enjoys spending time with her husband and son, traveling, cooking, and hiking.
