Dr. Stephen Christensen Graduated from Brigham Young University with Bachelor of Science degree in zoology and completed an internship with the Phoenix Indian Health Services in 1986. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Optometry in 1987, and shortly thereafter joined Eyestyles For Lifestyles that same year. In 1999, he obtained his Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent Certification. Dr. Christensen was motivated by a long-time desire to work in a professional and stimulating environment as well as the goal to manage his own facility.
Dr. Peter M. Horvath The founder of Eyestyles For Lifestyles. He graduated Cum Laude from the Los Angeles College of Optometry in 1970 and immediately went to work for an established optometric office in Downey, California. For the next two years he acquired true hands-on experience until he joined the U.S. Air Force where he further expanded his skills as an Optometrist with the rank of Captain. After two years in the service, he returned to Orange County to practice optometry for yet another established optometric office. For the next nine years he not only practiced optometry but, as the office manager, he also learned the business aspects of owning a practice. This continued until he opened the first Eyestyles For Lifestyles in 1986. In 1999, Dr. Horvath obtained his Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent certification.
Dr. Andrew Sendzik Born and raised in Lake Forest and graduated from El Toro High School. After which he joined the United States Navy where he was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq for the service of his country. After being honorably discharged, he returned to California where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He then continued his studies at the Southern California College of Optometry were he graduated Magna Cum Laude for his Doctor of Optometry degree. During his clinical training, Dr. Sendzik completed an internship program at the Cornea and Contact Lens Institute of Minnesota where he specialized in the area of advanced contact lens fittings for patients with keratoconus, post surgical corneas, and dry eyes, as well as contact lenses for astigmatism, multifocal contacts, and orthokeratology for myopia control in children. He also completed an internship at an ocular pathology clinic in Lawton, Oklahoma where he developed his expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye conditions such as: cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, conjunctivitis (pink eye), ocular allergies, and many other eye diseases. Dr. Sendzik is a member of the American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, and the California Optometric Association. In his free time, Dr. Sendzik enjoys working out at the gym, riding his mountain bike, and playing tennis at the Sun & Sail Club.
Dr. Melanie Nguyen
Dr. Melanie Nguyen, a Board-Certified optometrist and Orange County native, graduated in 2008 from Cal-Sate University of Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology. She then earned a secondary Bachelor of Science Degree in Vision Science from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she graduated in 2012. Dr. Nguyen earned a Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry in 2013. She also obtained her Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent Certification and is qualified to treat Glaucoma.
Dr. Nguyen received extensive training in various specialties during her Ocular Disease Residency Program at Seidenberg-Protzko Eye Associates in Maryland. The training includes glaucoma, retina, cornea, neurology, pediatric eye care, refractive surgery as well as preoperative and postoperative surgical care. In her free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time her with newborn baby, learning about photography, cooking, and playing board games with her family.
